Spring Feature: Kenya

Hi Friends! As you all know, Tanzania is the heart and soul of Zuri, but we aren't stopping there! At the start of this year, I committed to highlighting one new country each season. In the winter, we brought the beautiful Peruvian textiles to our online shop and shared some of the stories behind the amazing clutches and textiles. See that story here, and shop that collection here!
This season, I want to share with you about Kenya, the newest addition to Zuri's collection!

Meet Catherine and Moses - they are the driving forces behind the leather pieces Zuri is carrying this spring.  I fell in love with these products as you can see below, but I also love their philosophy. This Artisan group provides their partners with education, training, and creative design collaboration in order to help them grow their businesses and have greater access to a global marketplace. When their business grows, opportunity extends to their families and ultimately helps their communities break the cycle of poverty. We currently have the Amboseli Tote up on our site in black, but will be receiving more in cream and olive green in early May, as well as the Nubuck Backpack.

We are also carrying some beautiful brass earrings and handwoven scarves. Here are the amazing brass-work leaders, Raymond and Miriam and their work. Behind each piece is a story of determination, hope empowerment! We'll be getting more earrings from them in early May as well!
